Any questions? We’re here to help…

Here at Midifex we believe that the Lujin offers the best features and peformance . Sound too good to be true? Don’t worry, we’ve got all the answers to your frequently asked questions.

  • What would you use the Lujin for
The Lujin connects to your computer and is great for adding automation to your tracks in a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). You can use its faders, knobs, and buttons to control MIDI CC data, which gets recorded directly into your DAW. This automation adds new expression, dynamics, and movement to your music, bringing your compositions to life.
  • Does the Lujin require additional software to be installed
The Lujin is a plug-and-play USB MIDI device. No software or drivers are needed for Windows or Mac, and no software is required to program settings or controller values. All presets and settings are stored on the device.
  • What are the dimensions of the Lujin?
  • What devices can the Lujin connect to
The Lujin is a plug-and-play for Windows, Mac, or even an iPad! Just connect it with the provided USB cable, and you’re all set. It also has a 5-pin MIDI DIN socket, so you can connect and control hardware like synthesizers, sequencers, or drum machines.
  • How do the faders feel
The faders are 100mm long and feel smooth to use. They’re firm enough for precise control but still spaced well, making it easy to move them individually or together.
  • How do the LED on the faders play back automation
As you move a fader, the orange LEDs light up to match its position. When you record automation in your DAW, the LEDs can play back that automation, giving you a visual feel for the expression and dynamics you’ve added. To set this up, just set the MIDI “output” of a track in your DAW to the Lujin so it can display the automation as it plays back. Most DAWs support setting MIDI output directly, including Reaper, LUNA, and Ableton. In Logic Pro, this is limited but can be done using the Logic Environment window.
  • What are the default CC number mappings
Right out of the box, the Lujin is ready to use! It comes with a default preset (Bank 1) with standard Control Change (CC) values, common for many VST and virtual instruments. This preset Bank is set to MIDI channel 1.
  • How do I program the CC values for the faders and knobs
For Faders and Knobs Short-press the Program button on the back of the Lujin The values on the screen will flash Adjust faders or knobs to the desired CC values as shown on the screen Press Program again to exit For Push Buttons While in Program mode, double-press the Program button (short-press twice) The values on the screen will flash slowly, indicating button programming mode Rotate Knobs to set CC values for each push button Press Program to exit All changes are retained until the device is powered off. Changes can be permanently saved to Preset Banks.
  • How many Preset Banks can be saved
The Lujin can store up to 16 custom preset banks, each with unique CC values and the MIDI channel is also stored per preset. For example: Bank 1: Configured for your DAW Bank 2: Set for a specific VST Bank 3: Mapped to a hardware synth via MIDI DIN port on MIDI Channel 10 Saving a Preset Bank Adjust faders, knobs, buttons, and MIDI channel as desired Press and hold the Program button until C, P, S appears Use the middle fader to select a bank (1-16) Press the Save (bottom button). Settings Press and hold the Program button on the back of the Lujin The screens will flash C, P, S, showing you're in Settings Mode C = MIDI Channel.
